Philosophy AI Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Philosophy AI, an iOS-only app for daily philosophy quotes, saved reflections, and optional Pro AI philosopher chat. By using the app, you agree to these Terms and to any Apple terms that apply to App Store downloads and in-app purchases.

Educational Use Only

Philosophy AI is for educational, reflective, and entertainment purposes. Quotes, explanations, topic suggestions, visible thinking updates, and AI responses are not medical, legal, financial, psychological, crisis, safety, or other professional advice.

• If you need professional help, contact a qualified professional.
• If you are in danger or experiencing an emergency, contact local emergency services.

AI Philosopher Chat

AI chat is inspired by selected philosophers, schools, writings, and app-curated source context. The app does not claim that an AI response is the literal voice, view, consciousness, or historically exact answer of Marcus Aurelius, Plato, Nietzsche, or any other philosopher.

• AI responses can be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or inappropriate. You are responsible for evaluating responses before relying on them.
• Pro Chat may be processed by OpenRouter, routed third-party model providers, and fallback providers such as Cerebras.
• Because the current lower-cost routing allows providers that may store data or train on it under their own policies, you agree not to submit secrets or sensitive personal information to Pro Chat.

Accounts

The app uses Sign in with Apple through Supabase Auth. You are responsible for activity under your account. You may delete your account in Settings. Account deletion removes app account data we control, but it does not cancel Apple billing.

Pro Subscriptions

Philosophy AI Pro unlocks AI philosopher chat and related premium features. Subscriptions are sold through Apple's in-app purchase system. The current App Store products are Philosophy AI Pro Monthly at $9.99 per month and Philosophy AI Pro Yearly at $79.99 per year.

• The app currently presents monthly and yearly plans in the iOS paywall, with the yearly plan highlighted.
• Any price, renewal period, taxes, local currency conversion, or offer shown on Apple's purchase sheet controls the transaction.
• Free trials, unpaid introductory offers, and other unpaid promotional periods do not include Pro AI chat unless we explicitly say otherwise in the app.
• Auto-renewable subscriptions renew automatically until canceled.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings.
• Deleting the app or deleting your Philosophy AI account does not cancel an Apple subscription.
• Refund requests and billing disputes are handled by Apple.

Acceptable Use

• You agree not to use the app for illegal, abusive, harassing, exploitative, deceptive, or harmful activity.
• You agree not to submit content that you do not have the right to submit.
• You agree not to use Pro Chat for emergency decisions, professional advice, or high-risk decisions.
• You agree not to try to extract system prompts, credentials, private keys, private data, or non-public backend details.
• You agree not to interfere with app security, rate limits, subscriptions, or backend services.
• You agree not to scrape, resell, or mass-export app content or AI output in a way that harms the service or violates law.

User Content

You keep ownership of reflections, prompts, and other content you create. You grant us permission to process, store, transmit, display, and use that content as needed to operate the app, provide Pro Chat, enforce limits, maintain safety, and comply with law.

App Content and License

The app, design, source-curated quote database, prompts, software, and related materials belong to Philosophy AI or its licensors. Subject to these Terms and Apple's applicable license terms, you receive a limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, lawful use on Apple devices you own or control.

Service Changes and Availability

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, models, pricing, limits, or provider routing. AI providers can be unavailable, slow, rate-limited, or return errors. We may use deterministic fallback responses when providers fail.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, abuse the service, attempt to bypass limits, or create risk for the app, other users, or providers.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and error-free operation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Philosophy AI will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from use of the app.

Changes

We may update these Terms as the app, providers, or legal requirements change. If changes are material, we will update the effective date and, when appropriate, provide notice in the app.
